Map-style view of the Ohio and Kentucky region VeloCrate serves for crating and freight

Service Area

Crating and freight across the Columbus–Cincinnati corridor.

Based in the Columbus, Ohio area — minutes from John Glenn Columbus International (CMH) air cargo — VeloCrate covers Central and Southwest Ohio — Columbus, Springfield, Dayton, and Cincinnati — plus the Northern Kentucky, Louisville, and Lexington markets. Cincinnati gets full daily coverage on our standing I-71 lane. For oversized, specialty, or time-critical work, we travel as needed throughout Ohio and beyond.

Where We Work

Based in Columbus, built for the corridor.

We’re based in the Columbus, Ohio area — minutes from John Glenn Columbus International Airport and straight onto I-70, I-71, and I-670. That position is the whole point: Columbus-area jobs get a same-day site visit, on-site crating, and a clear pickup window — and a standing daily lane down I-71 keeps Cincinnati and the rest of the corridor on a tight, predictable schedule.

We cover four primary Ohio metros and three Kentucky markets as our home turf — and when the load is oversized, specialty, or time-critical, we go wherever the work is, throughout Ohio and beyond.

The Corridor

One shop, the whole I-71 and I-75 spine — Columbus to Cincinnati, with Kentucky a bridge away.

Every crate we build is cut, fitted, and stenciled for the load it protects — then routed through the metro where it ships. Custom boxes, not guesswork.

Metro by Metro

What we serve, city by city.

The work isn’t the same in every market — so our routing, crate specs, and turnaround aren’t either. Here’s how each metro actually runs.

Columbus

Ohio · Our backyard, same-day

Columbus is the corridor’s distribution engine, now with major semiconductor and data-center build-out and a deep research base. We handle clean, high-value electronics and fab tooling that demand careful crating and full-value coverage. We’re based right here in the Columbus area, so most jobs get a same-day site visit and on-site crating. Minutes from CMH air cargo, we time export crating to outbound flight cutoffs.

Cincinnati

Ohio · Daily full coverage

Aerospace, advanced manufacturing, and consumer-goods R&D drive Cincinnati. We build ISPM-15 export crates for jet engine components and machine tooling, plus shock-isolated boxes for prototype equipment. Cincinnati is a full daily market for us — all four services on a standing Columbus–Cincinnati lane down I-71, so pickups, deliveries, site visits, and quotes run on a dependable everyday schedule, not a special trip.

Springfield

Ohio · Often same-day

Springfield is heavy-truck and agricultural-equipment country, with food processing alongside it. The loads run big and awkward — truck assemblies, ag machinery, full skidded lines — so we build oversized, bolt-down crates rated for the weight. A straight shot west on I-70 keeps turnaround tight, frequently same-day.

Dayton

Ohio · Same-day, an hour west

Dayton runs on aerospace research, defense work, and automation. That means sensitive instruments and one-of-a-kind builds that can’t take a hit — so we spec foam-cradled, shock-mounted crates and handle the documentation defense suppliers expect. About an hour west on I-70, most jobs get a same-day site visit.

Northern Kentucky

Kentucky · Air-cargo cutoffs

Northern Kentucky lives around the CVG air-cargo hub, so the clock matters as much as the crate. We build air-freight-ready export boxes — light enough to fly, strong enough to certify — and time pickups to outbound flight cutoffs. We reach it on the same daily I-71 lane through Cincinnati.

Lexington

Kentucky · Scheduled, expedited on request

Lexington pairs automotive manufacturing with university research and the equine industry, so the work swings from production tooling to delicate lab instruments. We tailor each crate to the contents — heavy and bolted for machinery, cradled and cushioned for sensitive gear. Lexington runs on a scheduled lane, with expedited service when timing is tight.

Louisville

Kentucky · Late-cutoff express

Louisville is built around UPS Worldport, with appliance, automotive, and distilling-equipment manufacturing feeding it. We package heavy machinery and time critical crates to Worldport cutoffs so freight makes the night sort. Scheduled lanes keep our Louisville turnaround dependable, with expedited runs when a deadline is real.

Every metro gets all four services.

Beyond The Map

We travel as needed.

For oversized, specialty, or time-critical jobs, our team goes where the work is. When a machine can’t move or a deadline can’t wait, we bring the crating and packaging expertise on-site — throughout Ohio and beyond.

Fast to respond. Accountable on the ground.

Most quotes turn around same or next business day, and a local team member owns your job from first call to final delivery — no call centers, no handoffs across the country.
